It's funny to me how one of the more recurring criticisms I've seen is how the story is childish, and yet a lot of the people who are saying that are actually coming across as children themselves. I'm not saying EVERYONE is coming across that way, but when people are just spamming emotes and claiming that people who disagree have been infected by toxic "posetevitiey" (yes, really) it's becomes a little hard to take it seriously. Again, before anyone takes this personally, I'm not saying EVERYONE who criticizes the expansion is like that, and people don't have to be as articulate as Urianger in their critique, but it's not exactly a small number. You've only got to look at the average Zepla comment section to see what I mean.

The entire discourse has just become obnoxious on both sides and it really sucks, but if there's one thing it does prove it's that things like "toxic positivity" or "toxic negativity" aren't the biggest problems in this community. The real issue is that people can't accept ANY point of view that isn't theirs and don't know how to disagree like normal people. Whether that point of view is negative or positive is ultimately irrelevant because the fans can't accept the idea that not everyone thinks the same way as they do. Arrogance, pretentiousness, and just generally being stuck up. Those three things are a plague in the FF fan base and have been for over 25 years.

I think it's just right. But I wish they had some content that was just faster and more varied versions of fights, instead of the weird adventure game logic puzzles of extremes and savages. The difficulty spike between normal and savage is just... not even really a difficulty spike so much as it uses the logic of a completely different game.

I never shit talk those who like the story as long as those people aren't trying to act as if their opinion is the right one. Now, if someone says "I like DT and anyone who thinks otherwise is bad/wrong/etc"? Then of course I'm going to state my opinion because they are also shit talking even if it's from the opposite opinion. If someone wants to be argumentative, then I will gladly partake and both sides can be this way. But people who just say "I liked DT " and leave it at that? I won't interject my opinion. The reality is the WoL hasn't been the main character in many expansions including the award winning HW. The WoL is a protagonist, but the story doesn't truly revolve around them until late ShB and then EW. The other expansions were about different states and cultures as well. Also, while the WoL may be more the center of the plot in the last 2 expansions, they are kind of a goof ball who needs their buddies to help them get shit right.
